  • Year 2 Pop Up Space Museum

    Sat 19 Mar 2016

An amazing experience was had by Year 2 over three days of visits from the Museum on the Move and much subsequent hard work putting together the exhibits and then constructing their space museum.

It was brilliantly put together and hugely informative, displaying a fabulous array of both knowledge and skills.

Some of the many comments left by visitors to the museum said:

'Well presented and prepared museum. Pupils all helped on our tour around museum.'

'An excellent learning tour for pupils and mums, dads and grandparents. Well done all.'

    'Fantastic!!'

'Wonderful work. The children enjoyed telling me about their work.'

'What and amazing opportunity the children have been involved in! We loved looking at the different examples of how the children have learnt about space. Amazing!'

'Very good. Learned lots of new things and got lots of different things to try and have a go at.'

'What a fantastic museum! I loved looking around the exhibits and hearing how enthusiastically the children explained them to me.'

'What a lot of hard work, well done! Such interesting facts, great models and lovely games'.

'Fantastic to see the work everyone has done over the past few weeks and the children's enthusiasm for their topic'.

'I think the children and teachers have worked extremely hard. I would love to be invited to something like this again! seeing what they do shows us so much more than what they tell us they do! Well done Year 2!'

    'Inspirational'.

Our thanks go to the amazing Museum on the Move and their dedicated and inspirational team - Warwickshire's and Worcestershire's award winning Mobile Museum and, of course, Tim Peake for inspiration!

  • Full House for a Full House

    Sun 13 Mar 2016

At least four dozen and legs eleven came knocking at the door on Friday night and it was time for fun. At the beginning, man alive we were in a state but me and you didn’t make them wait, and rise and shine - you’re doing fine, especially the young and keen did strive and strive. Halfway there we did stop and run when it was time for tea and then they asked for more though straight on through till all but one we were nearly there. It was a little unlucky for some but there were at least a lucky seven at the candy store. Was she worth it? – bulls eye.

  • RHS Christmas Card Competition!

    Thu 10 Mar 2016

Spring is on its way so Christmas is probably the last thing on your mind - but in the world of retail Christmas always comes early! That is why, throughout March, the RHS are looking for festive designs for their first ever RHS Campaign for School Gardening Christmas card, which will be sold in our RHS shops this Christmas.

They want pupils to create an original design, preferably (but not necessarily) incorporating an element of horticulture or gardening. Think snowmen, robins, snowy gardens and wintry walks!
There will be two designs chosen, one from pupils aged 11 years and under and one from pupils aged 12-18. As well as having their designs sold in RHS shops, the two winners will also win £100 of gardening goodies and art supplies.

The deadline for entries is 5pm on Monday 21 March 2016 so pupils have just a few weeks to come up with their winning designs. For full details, an entry form and template please go to:

  • World Book Day

    Thu 03 Mar 2016

WOW – everyone looked amazing on World Book Day today – thank you so much for all of your effort with the costumes.

We had superheroes, Fairytale characters, people from Hogwarts, Where’s Wally, Cats in Hats, Alice and her Wonderland characters, some Skullduggery, Roald Dahl favourites, and too many more to mention. Photos will be in the class pages.

We enjoyed the special lunch menu, prepared for us by Pam and her team and most classes did work based on Roald Dahl, as it is the centenary of his birth.

    What a great day!
