Pudsey Piles on the Pounds! 240 of them.
Fri 16 Nov 2012WOW! Pudsey Bear just grew and grew on Friday 16th as we piled our pounds onto him to 'colour' him in. He looked absolutely amazing by the end of the day and a huge thank you to everyone who added to Pudsey for Children in Need . It certainly shows how we think of others. Our thanks must also go to Miss Gasson and the School Council for organising this event. They still have the task of counting all of the coins to see how much we raised - no mean feat as you will see from the photographs -the grand total will be announced in next week's 'In Touch' and on the website.
STOP PRESS The coins are now counted and we are absolutely delighted to announce that over £240 was raised in total - a superb effort from everyone so well done.

Jubilee Planting
Fri 16 Nov 2012Well done and thank you to our eco-committee who were busy planting 60 hedgerow trees along the top of the slope on Monday lunchtime. They were keen and enthusiastic, despite the rain, and have done a truly marvellous job. The plants were donated to the school by the Woodland Trust as part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Celebrations and this all counts towards our ‘Silver’ award as a Woodland Trust School. -
Surprise Kitchen Visit
Fri 16 Nov 2012Well done to our kitchen staff who had a surprise ‘spot check’ visit from Environmental Health during the week and, of course, passed with flying colours. These happen once every two years for top-rated facilities. We are so fortunate to have such a fabulous team in the kitchen preparing the lunches for your children and those of you who have joined us for lunch know what high quality lunches they prepare. A big well done to the team. -
Children in Need
Thu 08 Nov 2012On Friday 16th November it is Children in Need Day.
At The Dassett we will be helping to raise money for Children in Need by filling in a huge outline drawing of Pudsey Bear with bronze and silver coins so please help us and start collecting 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p and 50p pieces. Each class will place their coins on the outline throughout the day so that we can ‘colour in’ Pudsey with our donations. You can bring as many or as few coins as you like, to help us contribute to this very worthy cause.
