Our Teaching Staff

Mr Dan Hackett - Assistant Head Teacher Year 5/6, SEND, History & Geography

I am extremely excited to have joined The Dassett this year and work with Year 5 and 6. I have been a teacher for ten years now, seven of which I have worked with upper Key Stage 2. As a teacher, I value not only academic progress but love seeing children gain in confidence as they head through their primary school journey. My favourite subjects to teach are Geography, PE and English. Outside of school, I love all sports particularly cricket which I spend most of my weekends playing. I also love football and am a huge supporter of the finest team in the Midlands- Aston Villa. My wife and I have recently had a little boy named Teddy, who has just turned six months and we love spending time with him and our mischievous cockapoo named Lennie!

Miss Laura Harlin Reception English, Science

I love teaching early years and am excited to be the reception teacher here at The Dassett. I am Mummy to two children who are both growing up too quickly!  We have an adorable little white Maltese puppy called Coco. She is very cute but a little bit mischievous! We love taking her out for walks and enjoying the countryside together.

Miss Claire Cooper Year 1/2

I am really excited to be teaching year 1/2. This is my second year of teaching and my first in Key Stage 1. In my spare time, I enjoy playing hockey and spending time with my friends.  I have 2 cats called Rodger and Terry who are full of mischief. Within the classroom, my aim is to create a positive and happy learning environment to allow children to excel.

Mr Spencer Foyle Year 3/4, PE, ICT

I have been a primary school teacher since 2005.  (Prior to that, I worked in industry for ten years.)  Married with two children (a son at university and a daughter in Year 10), my family also includes Reginald the dog and Willis, the rabbit.  My hobbies are hiking, yoga (in which I have just qualified as a teacher), theatre and reading.  Education wise, I am interested in contributing to development of well-rounded, confident, happy children. I also volunteer for the local children's wellbeing and mentoring charity: Lifespace.

Mrs Samantha Moll, MFL

I have worked in Years 1-6 at the Dassett, initially as a teaching assistant and now as a teacher for over 10 years.  I have two children, a cockapoo called Sidney and a cat called Toby. In my spare time I like visiting the theatre, reading and travelling.

Mrs Ruth Dunn, Music

Although I’ve just started working here, I’m lucky enough to already know quite a lot about The Dassett as I have two children at the school. This year, I am teaching in every class over the duration of each half term and I’m looking forward to getting to know every single child in the school! I am also really excited to continue working with the school’s Eco Warriors to make changes that will help our planet.  When I’m not teaching, I love to be outside – riding my bike, walking, swimming and running.
