Our Teaching Staff
Miss Jessica Chance Reception, Science
I have recently joined The Dassett and teach Reception. I have a passion for Early Years and enjoy nurturing children in their first steps of education. In my free time I enjoy competing on my horses Sassy & Oliver and looking after my two very naughty cats!
Mrs Samantha Parkes Year 1/2 SENCO, Intervention Lead, NQT Mentor, First Aider, Designated Safeguarding Lead, SLT, Art and DT
During my time at the Dassett I have taught years 1 -5 at various times. I have enjoyed the uniqueness of each class and seeing how each child's learning develops over time with us. I feel lucky to work at such a wonderful school. In my free time I like playing and listening to music and ringing the bells at Burton Dassett Church.
Mrs Samantha Moll Year 3 Assessment & Standards Leader, Maths, Designated Safeguarding Lead - SLT, MFL
I have worked in Years 1-6 at the Dassett, initially as a teaching assistant and now as a teacher for over 10 years. I have two children, a cockapoo called Sidney and a cat called Toby. In my spare time I like visiting the theatre, reading and travelling.
Mrs Nicola Woollard Year 4
After 17 years as a Goldsmith, I decided to retrain as a primary school teacher so I could follow my passion for teaching and learning. I am continuing to improve my practice through studying toward an MA in Education. Outside of school I love to walk, read, cook, crochet and play board games with my husband and two children. We also have two dogs and two guinea pigs.
Mrs Beth Hanna Year 5/6, English, ICT, Student Mentor
This will be my sixth year at The Dassett and my fifth in Year 6. I look forward to helping the children prepare for secondary school. It is a very busy year with lots of exciting challenges for the children. Outside of school I love being in the great outdoors - climbing and hiking are particular favourites, as well as walking my dogs and swimming with my daughter.
Mr Carl Upton Year 5/6, PE
I have recently joined the team at The Dassett and teach Maths and Literacy to small groups of Y5 and Y6 children. I have over 20 years of experience in teaching across a variety of schools. I enjoy working in small schools as you get to feel a part of both the school and local community. In my spare time I enjoy reading, cycling, Pilates and playing badminton.
Mrs Amanda Norris Class Teacher
I have been at The Dassett for over two years as a supply or temporary teacher and have been lucky enough to continue in either capacity. I have over twenty years’ experience teaching in a wide variety of schools across the country. A few years ago, in need of a change but still continuing to work with children, I decided to vary my career and began my own Forest School business. I love the outdoors, woodland, nature, reading and sewing and craft. I have a puppy called Talli, who joins me in the woods and a rather large Maine Coon cat called Bruich who sometimes follows us!
