  • A Dahlicious Coffee Dress Up Morning/ Afternoon without the Coffee.!?

    Fri 28 Sep 2012
Oh my goodness - what a day it was. The Roald Dahl dress up day and The Macmillan Coffee Morning all in one fun packed Friday!
WOW – the children looked srumdidliumptious (as the BFG might say) for our Roald Dahl Dress up day. A huge thank you for all of the effort that went into the many and varied costumes. There were a multitude of Matildas, a fistful of fantastic foxes, a wealth of witches, a chocoholic collection of Charlies and cohorts, in fact it was just a feast to behold on every level. We had a wonderful day and managed to raise lots of money for Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity. A massive thank you and well done to everyone!
And continuing with the feast theme, what a cake sale! Thank you all so much for the magnificant cakes, scones and cookies that were donated and on display and, indeed, snapped up this afternoon (and not just by enormous crocodiles). Year were outstanding in their organisation before the sale and the children enjoyed chomping for charity. It was a fabulous way to end a totally terrifc day and we have, again, made an excellent amount for the very worthy Macmillan Nurses.

  • Harvest Festival

    Sat 22 Sep 2012

Thank you so much to all of for you coming to our Harvest Festival at St Peter & St Clare and for all of the wonderful produce that you provided for our Harvest Service on Friday morning. We had a super time at the church, thanking God for all that He provides and celebrating this bountiful Season.
The children who read Bible readings and prayers did extremely well and our thanks go to Kate Distin for leading the service.

The produce we donated, as well as that from the Church Harvest Service will be sold at the Church Harvest Sale on Monday 24th September in aid of the Church.

The evening will run from 6pm to 7.30pm.
  • The Dassett Summer Fair

    Sat 15 Sep 2012
What a great decision to postpone the waterlogged early Summer event as the sun shone down and you all came in droves.
Extra sausages were called for, extra rolls required, our thanks to Dave on the barbeque, the tombolas were sold out and everyone had a fabulous time. There was certainly a lot of excitement at the site of the Olympic Torch, and our thanks to Marion and Tracey from Southam Gymnastics for coming and letting us hold the torch and have our photos taken with it.
Once again we had a wonderful time at a Dassett event and our thanks go to The Friends for organising another hugely enjoyable occasion and to all of you for supporting us so wholeheartedly - early indications are that we have raised in excess of £800!

  • Olympic Torch to be at The Dassett Summer Fair!

    Mon 10 Sep 2012
We are absolutely delighted to be able to tell you that a genuine Olympic Torch will be at the Summer Fair on Saturday 15th. Our heartfelt thanks go to Marion Childs, one of our local Olympic Torchbearers, who will be bringing the torch along, respledent in her Torchbearers tracksuit for us all to see and have a picture taken with.
Marion is one of the instructors from the Southam Gymnastics Club and there will also be an opportunity to find out more about them from Tracey Powell, who will be accompanying Marion.
    Our thanks to them both.
