COVID-19 is having a direct and very real impact on the School Health and Wellbeing Service. As a direct consequence of the pandemic they are seeing a rise in referrals to the service. These are predominantly around emotional health and wellbeing issues which are resulting in children experiencing higher levels of anxiety, reduction in concentration, lack of confidence and fear of the virus. They are directly responding to referrals that meet their service offer and are working hard to support these children and families. In addition the service is managing and supporting with a 100% increase in the level of safeguarding concerns.
