Today the Met Office issued a red weather warning for parts of south-west England tomorrow. The warning is in place from 7am to 12pm. There are also amber and yellow warnings in other parts of the country that last for much of the day.

    DfE today:

At this stage the department is not planning to issue national guidance. We would obviously expect settings to undertake their own risk assessment to consider the safety of both staff and pupils and refer to their business continuity plans for severe weather as they would normally. It may be that on the back of that risk assessment they decide to remain open but need to put measures in place ie. playtimes are held inside etc. but will obviously depend on local context.

Our area is currently under an Amber weather warning. Therefore, we plan to open as usual tomorrow. We expect all pupils in school as normal, however we appreciate that some parents - particularly those who travel from further away - may make the decision (based on their individual circumstances) not to travel to school. We will be understanding in these exceptional circumstances. At present all of our teachers will be expected in school, however some do travel quite a distance to school. We have contingency plans for adverse weather regarding outdoor time which we will use when necessary, during the day. We will post information on this website and on SEESAW as changes occur.

Thank You for your ongoing support.
