  • The Imagineering Club Jaguar Landrover Visit

    Fri 07 Dec 2012
The Imagineering Club had a truly wonderful visit to Jaguar Landrover on Wednesday organised by Daniel Whittington, a STEM ambassador who runs the club for us. We were shown around the Virtual Reality Suite, saw plastic models being created and saw cars being tested in a variety of conditions. It was fascinating stuff! We were then fortunate to be met at the door by a convoy of extremely nice Jaguars and Landrovers, in which we were given a ride (rather like popstars or movie stars on the red carpet!). We then had an adventurous time on the off road experience, being driven through rivers, up and down steep slopes over rocks to name but a few! It was an amazing afternoon and we would like to express our thanks to all involved in organising the visit. It was ‘awesome’, in the words of the club members! And Mrs Hine!
  • The Northend Chapel of Ease Carol Service

    Sun 02 Dec 2012
What a fabulously festive way to end a weekend. The beautifully decorated Chapel was absolutely full to the rafters with full voiced carol singers young and old joining The Dassett Christmas Choir in their singing of many of our favourite traditional carols.
The Dassett Choir comprised Anna B  Year 6 Flute, Annabel  Year 4, Caitlin  Year 4 Flute, Charlotte  Year 3, Chloe B  Year 6, Clara  Year 4, Codey  Year 3, Emily  Year 5, Grace G  Year 3, Henry Year 2, Isabella Year 4, Jade  Year 5, Katelyn  Year 3, Lily  Year 4, Olivia  Year 3, Tiffany  Year 4, and Tilly S  Year 3.
They were ably supported by both Abbie Year 5 and Charlie Year 5 reading a couple of absolutely wonderful festive poems.
It was super for the children to work with some children from other schools and to be seen in such a strong role within the community. Well done to all of you for your efforts in practise and for putting on such a professional and fun performance this afternoon - we are all very proud of you. Also a special thank you to everyone who came and helped make this such a special occasion.
  • The Top Corridor Painting

    Sun 02 Dec 2012
An absolutely massive thank you to all those who came along on Saturday morning to help finish off the painting in the top corridor. Mrs Atkins and Rebecca, Mr Leslie, Mr Ainley, Mr Brierley and Mr Hine all made light work of the assorted glossing and emulsioning and were still able to make their assorted diary dates of golf lessons, family visits, rugby internationals and Piston parties!
We really do appreciate all of your hard work and thank you for giving up your time so willingly - the children will be thrilled I'm sure.
