Saplings, Seeds, Spuds and Science please
The Seeds are Back!
At 04:26am on Tuesday 2nd March, Commander Scott Kelly of NASA and Russian cosmonauts Mikhail Kornienko and Sergey Volkov of Roscosmos landed safely back on Earth in Kazakhstan. The seeds then travelled with Scott Kelly to NASA in Houston on a charter flight from Moscow, Russia and returned to the UK on Thursday. The RHS have been busy packing them up so they can be sent to out to us with our Rocket Science experiment pack and they will be here on 18th April! Launch site to be announced. If anyone has any experience setting up a Raspberry Pi could they speak to Mr. Hine as we are planning to create a time lapse video of the experiment.
Grow Wild
We have received our Grow Wild seed kits from Grow Wild at Kew Royal Botanic Gardens and are getting ready to prep the ground and create two wild flower borders over the coming week.
Grow Your Own Potatoes
Our GYOP potatoes have been chitting away very nicely in the quite of the big workroom and are going to be planted into the allotment over the next week or so.
The Woodland Trust
We are so excited to announce that we have got over 400 Dogwood, Hawthorn, Hazel, Silver Birch, Rowan and Wild Cherry saplings arriving later this year to plant as two feature hedges to the front and rear of the school.
