We all stood out on the field, gazing into the sky today, hoping to spot the Vulcan XH558 on its flypast to Gaydon and, despite a long wait, we were not disappointed! This flypast was to mark not only the end of XH558’s Cold War Season and the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, but to honour those that served during that tense period in history and, particularly, the V-Force stations and aircraft that played a vital part in keeping the peace.
Our theme in Collective Worship this week has been Peace and this was a fabulous (if a bit noisy!) way of experiencing this for real. A video from a parent of the plane flying over is available at http://www.thedassettprimary.co.uk/gallery/
