Cancer Research Sponsored Run
Sat 26 Sep 2015We are delighted to say that although we haven't accounted for all the sponsor sheets yet, it would appear that we have, thanks to your amazing generosity, raised somewhere over £1500 for this amazing cause.
All of the children certainly seemed to have a fabulous afternoon and coupled with the coffee 'morning' for Macmillan (over £160 raised) we had an absolutely superb afternoon.
We have put a selection of photos from the day into the gallery, which you can find by clicking the link below.

It isn't Rocket Science...
Fri 25 Sep 2015...well actually, it is!
I have just received this email confirmation:
Thank you for your application to take part in Rocket Science. I am delighted to inform you that your application has been successful!
The seeds are currently on board the International Space Station (ISS) and will stay there until March.
We will receive them after that and our experiment can begin.
You can track the ISS online and wave at them as it flies over the UK, or even your county!

From The Friends
Mon 14 Sep 2015This Tuesday the 15th is the first Friends meeting of the new school year. Everyone is welcome to come along and we're having a change of venue and will be meeting in The Merrie Lion at 8pm.
The Friends numbers have now reached a critical low and unless we have new people willing to get involved the likelihood is that we will have to only run one or two events a year!! This would have a huge knock on effect to school life for the children as many of the things paid for with the money raised would have to stop or the cost of them would have to be passed on to the parents. The more people involved the less work there is for everyone!
Please come along on Tuesday and meet us, we're a friendly bunch of Friends, you don't have to come to every meeting you can always just sign up to help at events!

Year Group Curriculum Information Evenings
Thu 10 Sep 2015On Monday 14th September please come along and meet your child's new class teacher. They will be providing information about the topics your child will be learning, how you can help with this and information about how the class/subject timetable is arranged. Any specific information for your particular year group will be given and it will be a chance for you to ask any questions you may have about this year. These meetings start at 3.30pm, 4pm and 4.30pm. In the Reception classroom, Mrs. Pounds will be leading information sessions about phonics, which any parent can go along to. Mrs. Hine will also be holding a curriculum and assessment information session in the hall at the same times, as well as a later session at 6pm. She will provide information about the national curriculum and the assessment procedures the staff use to help your child progress in their learning. Children are welcome to attend if alternative arrangements cannot be made. This is a new information session for parents and so we hope you will come along.
