Our Teaching Staff

Mrs. Kirsten Pounds                       Reception, Religious Education

I am very much looking forward to returning full time after maternity leave and then a job share for a year. This will be my 4th year teaching at The Dassett and my 7th year teaching. I studied at the University of Gloucestershire specialising in early years teaching. My passion is teaching in reception helping the children learn through play to encourage and motivate the class.

I strongly believe in a partnership between school and home and look forward to working closely with parents.

Ms. Samantha Moll                        Year 1, Assessment Leader, Literacy, G & T

I have worked in years 1, 3 and 4 at the Dassett. I am really looking forward to returning to teaching Year 1 as it is the transition from the EYFS to Key Stage 1, and is a year where many more basic skills are learnt. I have two children both at Kineton High School and in my spare time I like visiting the theatre, reading and travelling.

Mrs. Samantha Parkes              Year 2, SENCO/Intervention Leader, Music, NQT Mentor,

First Aider, Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

During my time at The Dassett I have taught Years 1-5 at various times. I have enjoyed the uniqueness of each class and seeing how children's learning develops during their time with us. I feel really lucky to work at such a wonderful school. In my free time I enjoy playing and listening to music, reading and ringing the bells at Burton Dassett church.

Ms. Jane Marsh                               Year 3 Writing, Humanities & School Council

I have been working at The Dassett since January 2015 and am thoroughly enjoying it. I have been teaching for around twenty five years and during that time have taught across the entire primary age range. Each year group is special in its own way and I have enjoyed all of them. I particularly enjoy teaching history and I visit places of historical interest when I get chance. I have two grown up daughters and two lively Labradors who keep me busy.

I also enjoy eating out, spending time with friends and gardening.

Miss Rachael Williams                       Year 4, Science and Student Mentor

I am really looking forward to teaching Year 4 this year. I have previously taught Year 1 at the Dassett and I am excited to see how the children have moved on since I last taught them. In my spare time I love to read, go to the cinema and travel. I also play flute and piano.

Mr. Callum McMahon                   Year 5, Maths and PE Subject leader

I'm here to make the learning as fun and successful as possible! Upper Key Stage 2 is special, as children discover the incredible worlds that fiction books can take them to and start to really offer in depth opinions about life, the universe and everything! Personally, I love reading about Science and living things. Of course, what I enjoy most of all is helping children develop a love of learning, so that they can grow and be independent.

Mrs. Beth Hanna                             Year 6, ICT

I have completed my first year at the Dassett, which has been tremendous fun. I can’t wait for this new challenge. I am really looking forward to helping my year 6 class prepare for secondary school as they finish their primary education. This is going to be a really exciting year with lots of active learning. I hope the children enjoy as much as I’m sure I will. Outside of school I love spending time being creative with my three year old daughter, walking my dogs, camping and completing challenges such as mountain marathons.
