Teacher: Mrs Saunders
Teaching Assistant: Mrs Griffiths
This term we will be using Percy The Park Keeper, Beegu and The Bridge to support our literacy work in class. We will be writing both formal and informal letters, newspaper reports, producing animal fact files, and writing our own versions of stories and fables.
We will continue with our daily phonics work looking at different spellings and improving our decoding and blending skills. At this stage the children can read most words but need to develop their comprehension skills which we will promote in guided reading. Please read with or to your child every day to support their reading development.
As part of this, we will be creating our own woodland animals and Percy figures. Our animal theme links with our science work on animals and habitats and we hope to visit Twycross Zoo to see the animals up close. The children will discover why animals live where they live and how they adapt to survive.
In Design Technology, we will be looking at food, nutrition and safety by investigating and making different dips and dippers.
In Maths, we will be looking at multiplication and division , shape and consolidating our work on number.
