RE: Relationships and Sex Education – All about Me. Meeting for parents- All Year groups.
Dear Parents and Carers,
The Department for Education has announced changes to relationships and sex education (RSE).
These changes will come into effect from September 2020 and all schools will be required to comply with the updated requirements.
This means that we’ll be reviewing our RSE curriculum and policy so we can be sure our RSE provision is appropriate for our pupils based on their:
Age
Physical and emotional maturity
Religious and cultural backgrounds
Special educational needs and disabilities
We are planning to adopt the ‘All about Me’ programme of work for our school, as recommended by Warwickshire Local Authority but we would like to hear parents’ views. In preparation for this, the administrator of the programme (Mr Hunt) will be visiting school on Monday May 20th. During this day, he will be meeting with individual year group teachers to discuss the programme, as it is for each group of children.
Between 9:00am and 10:00am Mr Hunt will be available to present the programme to parents and to field any questions that you might have. This meeting is open to all parents and carers who are able to attend. Please feel free to come along and hear about the programme.
