Welcome to our Farmers’ Market pages. We will be holding the inaugural event on Saturday 21st May from 12pm to 4pm.
Expanded from the very popular Plant, Cake and Book Sale which is normally run in May and which is extremely well supported and attended by villagers and the parents, friends and family of the children at the school, this year we are expanding it massively, as a part of a huge drive toward embedding a healthy food and Green culture within school, and we have many local organic producers and suppliers, Fairtrade suppliers and other local organisations involved.
In addition to the usual attractions, we have a vintage tractor and static engine display, a bird of prey display, rare breed sheep and pigs, we will be opening the school gardens and allotment, having music recitals in the café area, featuring interactive healthy cookery demonstrations throughout the afternoon, a BBQ, opening our healthy tuck shop, fire engine, WI and Food for Life stalls, various competitions – art, photography and produce, an open hive demonstration and have already got a variety of crafts and organic food and drink suppliers. There are many more attractions booking up all the time.
Obviously we are promoting it extensively - both online and throughout the whole of the local area using our very supportive local press (Banbury Guardian and Leamington Courier), a widespread poster and leaflet campaign as well as having the usual amazing support of our parents and villagers.
Space is not limited as we will be holding the event in the main hall, corridors, (adjoining classrooms if required) and up to 3 marquees in and around the grounds as well. We are not looking to have lots of similar suppliers, as we appreciate that you want to make the most of your opportunity to market your product and if you wanted to run a demonstration or taster session we would be delighted to accommodate that as well, and we are looking for only £10 for a stall or a 10% donation from sales.
The event is to run from 12pm to 4pm on the afternoon of the 21st May and access to site will be from 9am and electric can be made available if required.
To book a stall simply call 01295 770267 or email email@example.com. Everything we do to host and promote events is by voluntary donation so all of the profit from the day will go back into the school and be used for a variety of schemes that we have ongoing.
The Dassett is a happy, dynamic and extremely popular school in Fenny Compton, serving all the villages in and around South Warwickshire, situated just off the A423 and within very easy reach of Banbury, Leamington Spa and Southam.
We hope that you feel you would like to join us for this exciting event and look forward to talking with you soon.
