They came….They saw (and tasted!) ….They liked – a lot!
The Farmers’ Market was an enormous success with a wide range of stalls and crafts, food and drink, as well as rare breed sheep and pigs, birds of prey and owls and bees. We also had wood carvings and vintage tractors. A huge thank you must go to the firemen from Fenny Compton Station for letting us see the Fire Engine. The Village Violin School, pianists and guitarists entertained the crowds well and the Year 5 and 6 pupils who helped on stalls were brilliant. Loads of the 800+ plants that the gardening club had grown went to good homes and the quiches and smoothies by the cooking club went like hot cakes!
The allotments and gardens were much appreciated and commented on and the stallholders had a fantastically successful afternoon with many selling out!
A huge thank you must go to The Merrie Lion for the brilliant barbecue.
It was such a fabulous Community event and we certainly did not let the drizzle at the end spoil the wonderful afternoon we all had and it was great to see so many of you there.
